The Vintage Phonograph Society of New Zealand Inc. began with a small meeting in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1965. A group of like-minded enthusiasts met to discuss their common interests and agreed that the forming of a group to promote these interests would be a good idea. And so the Society was founded!

In the 50+ years since that first meeting, the Society has linked together collectors of early disc and cylinder records, phonographs and gramophones. Back not so many years ago before the dawn of the internet, it was not easy to meet and acquaint with other collectors who shared a common interest and the Society has been and continues to be invaluable in doing so.

Our local group still meets monthly in members' homes around the Christchurch area and new members are always welcome. Please contact us if you would like to find out more.
